Arts Psychotherapy and you
The arts offer an expressive language, which can deepen and enhance the work of counselling and therapy. Using the arts requires no previous ability, with the focus being on self-expression and exploration, rather than a requirement to be ‘good at art’.
The arts are optional additions to therapy; available if you choose to use them. Often, the arts can be a means of communicating experiences that words simply cannot express.
The use of arts media, for example, paint, clay, miniature figures and ready-made imagery offers a powerful means for developing greater personal awareness, insight and exploring new options for more satisfying living.
